Easy Homemade Churros

These easy homemade churros are the perfect treat for any occasion. They're made with just a few simple ingredients and are fried to perfection. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Cinnamon sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms.
- Let the dough cool slightly, then stir in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan or deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
- Pipe the dough into 6-inch long strips into the hot oil.
- Fry the churros in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust the churros with cinnamon sugar and serve immediately.
Tips:
- For a crispier churro, let the dough rest for 30 minutes before frying.
- To make the churros ahead of time, fry them and then let them cool completely. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat them in a 350 degree F oven for 5-7 minutes before serving.
- Garnish the churros with your favorite toppings, such as whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or sprinkles.
