This Om Ali Recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. Om Ali is a traditional Egyptian dessert made with bread, milk, sugar, nuts, and spices. It is often served warm with a scoop of ice cream on top.
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of stale bread, torn into small pieces
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or pistachios)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread, milk, sugar, nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins (if using).
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Pour the melted butter over the bread mixture and stir to combine.
