This Om Ali Recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. Om Ali is a traditional Egyptian dessert made with bread, milk, sugar, nuts, and spices. It is often served warm with a scoop of ice cream on top.

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of stale bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or pistachios)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the bread, milk, sugar, nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins (if using).
  4. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the bread mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dish is heated through.
