This strawberry shortcake recipe is easy to make and perfect for a summer dessert. It's made with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a flaky biscuit.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add milk and stir until just combined.
- Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let biscuits cool slightly before assembling.
- To assemble, split biscuits in half and top with strawberries and whipped cream.
