Strawberry Shortcake

This strawberry shortcake recipe is easy to make and perfect for a summer dessert. It's made with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a flaky biscuit.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add milk and stir until just combined.
  5. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let biscuits cool slightly before assembling.
  8. To assemble, split biscuits in half and top with strawberries and whipped cream.
  9. Enjoy!
