- 1 (9-inch) pie crust, unbaked
- 1 cup sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, combine sugar, flour, and salt. Stir in cherries.
- Pour cherry mixture into unbaked pie crust.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and lemon juice. Pour over cherry mixture.
- Fold top crust over filling and crimp edges to seal.
- Cut several slits in top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling.

- For a richer flavor, use a combination of light and dark brown sugar.
