Profiteroles are a delicious French pastry that is made with a choux pastry that is piped into small mounds and then baked until golden brown. Profiteroles are often filled with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
Here is a recipe for Profiteroles:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream, for filling
- Chocolate sauce, for serving
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine flour, water, and butter.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add vanilla extract.
- Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe the batter into small mounds on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool completely.
- Fill profiteroles with whipped cream and top with chocolate sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Tips:
- For a more flavorful profiterole, you can add a few drops of rose water or kewra water to the batter.
- To prevent the profiteroles from sticking to the pan, make sure the oven is hot enough before baking.
- If the profiteroles are browning too quickly, reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- The profiteroles can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
