This easy Huckleberry Pie recipe is the perfect way to enjoy the tart and sweet flavor of huckleberries. It's simple to make and can be customized to your liking.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, pre-baked
  • 4 cups huckleberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine huckleberries, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Pour huckleberry mixture into pre-baked pie crust.
  3. Dot with butter.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 45 minutes, or until filling is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
  5. Let cool completely before serving.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use half whole wheat flour and half all-purpose flour in your pie crust.
  • If you don't have any huckleberries on hand, you can substitute blueberries or raspberries.
  • To make your own pie crust, simply combine 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 cup cold butter in a food processor. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add 1/4 cup ice water and pulse until the dough just comes together.
  • You can also add other toppings to your huckleberry pie, such as whipped cream, ice cream, or a dollop of sour cream.

Enjoy your huckleberry pie!
